An end-to-end test pack covers scope intake, drawing interpretation, review approvals, pricing, rate issues and report readiness.
Intelligence assists.
The estimator decides.
Estim8Lab is designed around review gates, visible exceptions, controlled access and a traceable route from working information to governed issue.
Designed to stand up
to real estimating work.
The product is developed around controlled test packs, visible exceptions and the same approval discipline expected on a live estimate.
Missing rates, matched-zero rates, zero-cost items, TBC rows and warnings remain explicit work queues rather than hidden assumptions.
Revision metadata, approvals, warnings, saved versions and report readiness support a clear route from working estimate to controlled output.
Your estimating workspace should be treated like commercial data.
Estim8Lab has a Windows-native deployment path and a governed access model designed for licensed organisational use.
Accounts and approved domains can be controlled at workspace level.
Admin, Estimator and Viewer roles separate workspace and export permissions.
Session revalidation, maximum session age and active-device limits are supported.
Rates and benchmark libraries can be delivered from private managed storage.
Workspace access, active sessions and export events can be administered and reviewed.
AI output remains subject to human review and does not move into pricing without estimator approval.
Before you bring it into the team.
Does AI decide the estimate?+
No. AI assists with document interpretation, extraction and suggestions. Review is the control gate: only rows approved by the estimator move into pricing.
What files can I use?+
Scope inputs include PDF, DOCX, TXT and PNG/JPG/WEBP images. Drawings can be uploaded for AI-assisted interpretation, and rates are supplied through XLSX workbooks.
Is drawing takeoff a replacement for measured CAD or QS takeoff?+
No. It is AI-assisted interpretation of visible drawings, schedules, legends, notes and dimensions. The resulting rows must be checked by an estimator.
Can we use our own rate library and cost codes?+
Yes. Estim8Lab supports uploaded Excel rates and can be configured around company cost codes, CBS/WBS structures, managed libraries and reporting requirements.
How is the software deployed?+
The current customer release path is a native Windows installer. Users sign in to an authorised workspace and the application runs through a local browser interface.
What does it export?+
The Excel export can include metadata, pricing, summary, review and approved data, warnings, takeoff, commercial lines, ADT, volumetric information, clarifications and notes. Reports are also available as PDF or print-ready HTML where supported.
How long does onboarding take?+
This depends on users, rates, coding and reporting configuration. A demonstration and pilot scope should be agreed before a firm onboarding timetable is published.
How is project information handled?+
Data handling, providers, retention and access arrangements are documented for the production deployment during onboarding. Estim8Lab remains estimator-controlled: AI suggestions do not become priced or issued content without review.
